As the second oldest botanic garden in the UK the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh hosts a vast plant collection and some remarkable architectural features. The landscape is attractively laid out and enables vital research and conservation work to be carried out.
The mission of RBGE is to explore, conserve and explain the world of plants for a better future. The Edinburgh Biomes project will enable them to protect their unique and globally important plant collection. The project will address an important need to restore their wonderful historic buildings and replace their mission critical facilities to protect their work for the future, enabling Scotland to maintain its leading reputation in plant research and conservation.
RGBE’s fundraising and membership team is now looking for a full time, experienced Operations and Database Officer who can take charge of all team processes and systems, including improving the efficiency of data. If you love setting up systems and capturing & reporting on data then you will relish this role. RBGE are looking for someone to help drive fundraising forward whilst providing key insights into their supporters to help improve their experience.
Overarching objective of the post:
To manage all processes and systems to ensure the smooth running of all development operations – managing and analysing data, processing gifts, dealing with general enquiries, leading on ‘operations projects’, working alongside Finance and assisting colleagues with financial data and process support.
You will therefore have a solid grounding in the following skills and aptitudes:
• Significant previous operations & database experience supporting fundraising, the methodologies and tactics to ensure success
• Resourceful and proactive as someone who enjoys working with data and is able to approach new systems with ease
• Highly proficient user of Microsoft products and CRM systems preferably Raiser’s Edge
• The confidence and experience to work with existing systems and improving efficiency
• Sound financial insight and good knowledge of UK charitable giving, data protection and taxation law as applies to fundraising, and the Fundraising Codes of Practice
