Chief ExecutiveType: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £40,000 rising to £42,000 after 12 months
Closing Date: Noon, Wednesday 28th August 2019
Braid House Day Centre is enormously valued, respected and needed. It is the biggest provider of services for the elderly in West Lothian which has the highest proportion of elderly in Scotland. The Centre caters for both local authority placed visitors and those who attend through their own means. It is a vibrant and fun place to be, offering many different activities and programmes to support the physical and mental health and overall well being of attendees. The Care Inspectorate has given it Very Good or Good gradings.
The Centre is now looking for a new Chief Executive to run the charity. The title, which is upgraded from Centre Manager, reflects the challenges which face an organisation like Braid House. These range from tendering for local authority services while ensuring the needs of the wider local population are met, diversifying the services on offer and creating a more robust and sustainable income generation strategy in the face of reduced statutory funding.
You will need to have deep experience of the health or social care sector and senior level management experience. You will need to be strategic as well as operational with a deep passion for helping this vulnerable group. It is not necessary to have SSSC registration but it would be helpful. You will need to have fantastic organisational skills with the ability to direct a diverse team and volunteers. Income generation, as with all charities, is challenging in the current environment and the Board will expect a creative and highly strategic approach to ensure the charity stays on a secure financial footing.
In return you will get full autonomy to run the Centre, a very supportive Board and a working environment which is energised and happy with a very committed workforce. If this appeals to you and you think you have the skills required, then please contact us immediately for a full candidate information pack.
