Executive Director

Type: Full-Time
Location: Central Belt of Scotland
Salary: Circa. £55,000
Closing Date: Midnight, Sunday 4th November 2018

Full Description

Scotland faces an enormous challenge with our young people being less active and involved in sport than previous generations. The consequences are stark in relation to health and productivity. Activity levels across the population are at best flat and in some groups and for some sports continue to decline. Why? OSS aim to find out.

Established by a team of Independent and passionate supporters, OSS funds research that delivers insight to challenge, support and promote better sports policy and practice.

OSS is a critical, supportive friend to Scotland’s sports sector:

*Providing policy makers and practitioners with the evidence to inform and promote better sporting outcomes

*Encouraging collaboration among academia, business and sport

*Sharing fresh thinking, best practice and proven innovation from across the country and internationally

OSS’ research aims to realise the potential of sport to contribute to a more active, socially connected, healthier and productive Scotland.

We are looking for a new Executive Director to build on the strong foundation of the charity that have been established over the last few years.
Could you be the person to take this organisation to the next level and lead the charge?

Are you passionate about the importance of sport to each and every one of us, interested in academic research as a way of influencing and persuading others and utterly committed to supporting the value of evidence-led sports policy and practice?

Do you have a university degree and strong income generating experience? Are you a natural leader, driven, resourceful, tenacious and resilient as well as a supremely good communicator? If so, then this opportunity could be the most rewarding job you’ve ever had.
