Known for its innovation in homeless accommodation and incredibly successful social enterprises, Four Square offers a range of services across four main themes: accommodation, advocacy and advice, training and employment, enterprise and sustainability.
Under the leadership of a new CEO, there is a new strategy, vision and ambition for the future. The sky is the limit both in terms of expanding the offer to people who need support and in taking the social enterprise models beyond Edinburgh.
Key to the success is a recent re-structure of the charity, which has created a new leadership team and some new supporting roles.

This role will oversee the Finance and Social Enterprise functions of the organisation, providing both strategic and operational leadership. The key tasks will include:
• Preparing annual budgets and forecasts; managing reserves, assets and investments and preparing year end accounts.
• Devising budgets and financial planning to support the implementation of the Strategic Plan.
• Ensuring timely and accurate governance and management of financial reports.
• Leading, developing and growing the social enterprise function of the charity.
A Consultant has been supporting the implementation of rigorous processes and procedures but you will need to carry this work forward. You will be a qualified accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience and show strong commercial acumen in terms of growing and supporting businesses. As well as significant senior management experience, you will be excited at the prospect of a hands-on role which calls for the ability to communicate with a wide range of people and a willingness to work closely with colleagues, up-skilling them in budget management and reporting. You will have excellent business acumen and an understanding of the social enterprise policy context while having the vision to develop and grow this important part of the charity. You will support the CEO in carrying out her responsibilities, deputising for her when necessary. You will need to be a natural leader, a sensitive but determined change agent and motivator of people, to succeed in this role.
