Handball is one of the most popular sports in the world and it’s beginning to take hold in Scotland!
This fast-paced sport is growing and Scottish Handball is leading its development to increase the popularity and participation in the sport across the country. Over the last 4 years it has successfully increased the number of players, teams and leagues, at all levels – from grassroots to domestic competitions, national leagues and involvement in European events.
Based at Inverclyde National Centre, Largs, Scottish Handball will continue this growth in membership and participation over the next 4 years along with developing the strategic aspects of the sport across Scotland.
As the sport grows, Scottish Handball will strengthen the national system which supports handball by making it more sustainable and strengthening the club structure. Also it will strengthen its governance as more children, youths and adults take up this exciting and inclusive sport which proliferates across Europe. Handball in Scotland will not be bound by age or ability.
Scottish Handball will enter a new era as it creates a highly effective organisation which will be truly fit-for-the-future. Internally, it will diversify its Board composition, revise its governance arrangements and create a robust staff structure. Externally, it will develop programmes and initiatives which will increase membership and deliver sustainability. It will increase its income to support the trajectory of handball nationally.
The organisation are looking for a dynamic new Chair to guide them through the next exciting stage of their journey. You will have a passion for sport along with the ability and determination to develop a growing sport in Scotland.
