Sense Scotland has been working for over 25 years with children and adults who have communication support needs because of deafblindness, sensory impairment, learning and physical disabilities. As an experienced social care provider, Sense Scotland supports disabled people and their families, offering flexible support throughout Scotland.
Hundreds of people and their families are supported through thousands of projects across the country. They are committed to providing people of all ages with the support they want and need through a wide range of services, representation and regular events.
Placement
Working within the fundraising team, this placement will focus on the following key tasks:
1. Promotion of events – mailings/facebook/twitter/ads to be placed (training in quark if necessary), email broadcasts (training if necessary), website updating, dealing with event enquiries, sending out packs.
2. Recruitment – in conjunction with promotion, sending out packs, confirming details on Raiser's Edge (fundraising database) of participants confirmed, calling potential event participants to encourage sign up.
3. Stewardship – once an event participant has signed up keeping in contact with them, supporting them to make sure they have all they need to take part – be a point of contact.
4. Promote collecting cans – research potential venues, send letters of enquiry and then fulfil the enquiry once confirmed.
Skills needed
You need to have a good, confident phone manner, strong communication and excellent organisational skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic and outgoing person who can speak confidently and is willing to hit the ground running.
